Like all species within the genus Conus, these snails are predatory and venomous.

Like all cone snails, they use their venom to kill their prey, but those species are capable of «stinging» humans, therefore live ones should be handled carefully or not at all.

For example, the venom of Conus Textile & Conus Magus contains conotoxin is extremely dangerous to humans and has powerful neurotoxic effects. Likewise, the venom of Conic Geographus is potent enough to kill humans.
